Photo of the apple tablet: debunked.

The noise profile of the tablet (fine grain) vs. everything else in the image (the splotchy stuff) as viewed by it's blue color channel shows it was placed on top of the separate, original image of the laptop. Very good fake, but pixels don't lie.

So how come the noise profile of the tablets reflection is not also fine grain like the tablet itself if they were both added on top of the original laptop image?

yeah, how about the reflection

Because the reflection is transparent, so in the composite the reflection which lies above the original will allow pixels from the original to show through. The image tablet is fully opaque and only composed of its own (completely new) pixels.

Yep, that pretty much debunks it.

This is a fake of fake! It's a new feature from Apple! Creating things to look false true or true false... whatever. :)

I'm guess you're right about the fake, but, what if someone did the image manipulation just simply to show it with a laptop? Could it still be the real deal?
